About the School Nutrition Association of Arizona

SNAAZ - These letters stand for the School Nutrition Association of Arizona, an alliance of over 850 Arizona school food service employees and supporters.
Kids at Play

We are a state affiliate to the School Nutrition Association (SNA), which represents over 53,000 individuals who have made a commitment to child nutrition. Through this national association, we are able to

  • promote the highest standards for child nutrition programs
  • lobby members of Congress for legislation to better meet the needs of children
  • provide leadership training and other professional development opportunities to our members
  • communicate important issues of common concern to members
  • and give voice to our group in many realms of influence

Our Arizona association is composed of nine (9) chapters located in different geographical areas of the State to provide services at a local level. Each chapter has four elected officers: President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer, as well as several appointed committee chairs.  (Note:  A few chapters have combined some of these offices.)

For the school nurse or other health care professional: SNA/SNAAZ strengthens the natural connection between these areas which are committed to maximizing the health of our nation’s children.

What happens at a chapter meeting?

A chapter meeting generally consists of a brief business meeting, a presentation which is informational, or motivational, targeting some area of personal or professional development, and sometimes activities just for fun. Light refreshments are usually offered or a dinner may be served. Contact your local chapter through Lois Stansbury, SNAAZ Executive Secretary. (See “Contact Us” on the home page of this website.)

You are always welcome to attend chapter meetings as a guest.  You don't have to be a member. Come check us out!
